The levels and means of associating with different people, including family, workmates, strangers, and acquaintances at other non-work-related places, constantly awe those scholars who examine daily life. It would appear that once a group of strangers leaves the cruel lights and loud commercialism of food retail outlets or crowded public transportation stations, they will have an immediate interest in how they can share the space as they undertake their activities. As such, re-structuring of personal thresholds seems quite critical in all social enterprises. This paper argues that contemporary urban spaces are immersive in struggling and loud communing. These social dynamics-but-not-visibly-authored settings are instrumental in socialization processes within running clubs.
Literature Review
There is increasing pressure to promote equality and maximize diversity in schools, businesses, and other settings in the contemporary world. It is paramount to ensure every person understands the significance of gender diversity. Gender diversity refers to the recognition, respect, and interchanging of unique experiences and competencies of different genders. Research shows that female athletes lag considerably compared to their male counterparts in achievement awards and prize money, prompting needs for gender equality within sports communities globally (Igou & Alan, 2016). Nevertheless, athletic clubs comprise more men than women, and as a result, studies are focusing on how running clubs can attract a more gender-diverse membership while also recognizing male and female levels of skills in athletics.
Social differences in age can also significantly impact humans' socio-emotional actions and behaviors in running clubs. Unlike the youth, older adults are typically less interested and unlikely to participate in running club activities as much. Surprisingly, age-associated divergences in socio-emotional development are diverse and can significantly influence the individual's athletic history and style. Many countries across the globe have increasingly become ethnically diverse (Igou & Alan, 2016). Consequently, racial spots emerge because racial minorities in athletic grounds sustain extended moments in their homes. This lag in time to spend in athletic grounds results in poor spatial agency – which is the central tenet of racial difference experiences in such spaces. As a result, racial spots lead to organizational instability and inertia in established running clubs characterized by offshoots, defunct projects, and continuing minderism.
Time is an age-and-gender related factor in athletic endeavors. Encroaching obligations triggered by employment and family growth are more consistently cited as central indicators for losing the membership and time commitments that generate value and rapport in running clubs (Hill et al., 2016). As a man or woman ages, they tend to abandon the running clubs and become less active as they reconcile from the pressure of business and domestic rolls as well as developmental restructuring that can also elicit time loss. Such a situation becomes problematic in mixed-age running clubs because the younger adults will be more concerned that their older counterparts are getting green cards for lowered expectations due to age and that the older are competing with younger people. As a result, the social dynamics of age imply reported differences in diversity commitment by academic age (Trapp et al., 2018). Therefore, when a running club is composed of younger and older athletes, there is a chance of under-representation of certain abilities in competition, explaining reports of gender differences in times run.
