The findings described the elevated stress brought on by loneliness and the ensuing psychological damage (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022). According to this study, social issues and mental health were associated with characteristics of inadequate use of social media, disengagement from groups, and disruption of customary daily patterns (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022). A significant increase in anxiety and despair was linked to a range of responses, from birthday celebrations to college acceptance (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022). According to Valez, Hahn, and Troyer (2022), the study’s ultimate goal is to help treat illnesses and harmful coping mechanisms in young people who believe they have “missed-out” on experiences that they should have had during this stage of their lives.
The study’s (PSYC FPX 4310 Assessment 2) permission was acquired by having school administrators contact parents, who may then decide whether or not to allow their children to participate in the research (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022). Prior to responding to the survey questions, the teenage participants would also provide their agreement (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022). In an effort to promote moral and secure outcomes, institutional review boards were enlisted to approve and oversee the project’s outcomes (Valez, Hahn, & Troyer, 2022).
Study 2: Chaos Unleashed
A study (PSYC FPX 4310 Assessment 2) of European research on drug usage and isolation among young people living in metropolitan areas during the Covid-19 pandemic was conducted by Anna Makela and Monet Howard. Their goal was to contrast the physiological and psychological effects with the findings of American clinical psychology (Makela & Howard, 2022). Using a large sample of cases, the researchers are assisting in the quantification of long-term genetic trends and the influence that illicit drugs have on DSM 5 diseases, such as autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental difficulties (Makela & Howard, 2022). They looked at factors like age, mood, drug usage, and psychotic disorders in order to define a significant result.
The United States has not yet quantified and published comparable data, therefore the researchers found that they could not compare young patterns of recreational drug use with American counterparts (Makela & Howard, 2022). They did, however, find a high correlation between multiple psychotic disorders in the DSM 5 range and excessive drug use (Makela & Howard, 2022). I regretfully could not identify the case studies and materials the researchers used for their literature analysis, therefore I cannot vouch for the comprehensiveness of their conclusions. Moreover, I am unable to determine if the underlying data was obtained in an ethical manner.
Study 3: The Role of the Cingulum Bundle
The fronto-cingulate-parietal brain region contains the cingulum bundle, which coordinates higher order functions (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022). Researchers Rajpreet Chahal, Tiffany C. Ho, Jonas G. Miller, Lauren R. Borchers, and Ian H. Gotlib postulated that when young girls were distressed, this area of the brain would show differences in depressive symptoms more so than it would in boys of a similar age (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022). They focused on fixel-based qualities in conjunction with stated symptoms of depression in a longitudinal study that was carried out in San Francisco from 2013 to 2020. Of the 214 juvenile subjects, 121 were female (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022).
Depending on each participant, this study was carried out over a four-to seven-year period (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022).
Four’segments’ of observation were conducted over a single main time period (Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022). During this time, the researchers paid close attention to how severe the depression and anxiety were in both the male and female participants (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022). Age, stresses, depression, sex differences, and resilience were the main variables in this study (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022).These factors (PSYC FPX 4310 Assessment 2) helped to identify psychopathologies, mood disorders, and possible treatments to increase female resilience in times of high stress (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022). In order to reach its conclusions, the study used extensive brain imaging, surveys, and interviews (Chahal, Ho, Miller, Borchers, & Gotlib, 2022).
Study 4: Sleep Quality
Expanding on the work done in support of kids who had contracted Covid-19, the researchers of this subsequent study. Through a thorough analysis of cases and results, the goal was to broaden observations to include long-term psychological impacts. All childr
