Analysis of Social Work Practice, Decision-Making and Professional Judgement
Social interaction is fundamental to human behavior; thus, life is anchored to relationships. Aging Australians have played critical roles in the life of contemporary nation, mainly because of the essential contributions they executed in their earlier life. The case report indicates that both the daughter's and the mother's social history are intertwined, presenting a complex situation for the social worker. In this case, Judith earns a paltry amount from her part-time job, whereas her father has considerable wealth located offshore (Isverding, 2019). These social, financial, and political dimensions offer the social worker a challenging task emphasizing money management for aging parents close to death and their adult offspring striving to seek their health care (Albert & Shacklock, 2023). Judith is manipulating the relationship with Remy (mom) to obtain access to more money through such tactics as emotional blackmail, claiming that Remy sold her home and gave Judith the funds needed to sustain her lifestyle and support Judith's children. Such callousness contradicts values and principles of social work.
