The Joint Commission directs education on several topics, including the plan for treatment, care, and services. Healthcare providers are required to have basic health practices and safety measures. It means that the patients are critically assessed for pain and their family members. They are also educated on pain management (Lipari et al., 2019). The Joint Commission requires that accredited hospitals assess patients to provide appropriate education based on their abilities and needs, to communicate to meet the written and oral communication levels.

The policy ensures that patients receive the education they need to successfully and effectively care for themselves at home. The policy requires medical organizations to monitor patients and provide them with information on how to care for themselves. It requires mechanisms to educate nurses on the best ways to provide patient education without offending the patients (DeRosa & Stribling, 2018). It also needs nurses to know evidence-based methods of managing various conditions that the patients may have, such as hypertension, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related conditions.

Impact of Policy on Selected Clinical Care, Patient-Provider Interactions and Workflow

The policy will increase patient satisfaction, which will also improve patient outcomes. Since the nurses will provide patients with the information on how to care for themselves appropriately, there will be an increase in patient-provider trust, which will also contribute to patient satisfaction (Lipari et al., 2019). There will be a higher level of workflow efficiency as the nurses and physicians collaborate when providing patients with information on how to care for themselves and manage various illnesses.
