The author has almost an exact trace of the evolution of the cell phone is his book. From the title of the book once again there is a clear indication of the impact that the cell phones had on the world. Not only does the author talk about the growth of the cell phone from when it was invented, but also explains what was happening around its development. The political changes and wrangles between countries are mentioned. The development that each country made is listed in the book with immense details that were there at the time. In spite of all that the author still mentioned the social effects that the cell phone had. He says, “An irony of cell phones is that they allow people to contact others more readily, but also to withdraw from personal contact” (Klemens 165). The author was trying to elucidate that the cell phones had an impact on the nature of interactions. He acknowledges that the cell phones made communication easier due to the readiness of the contact at whatever time, but at the same time, he notes that the cell phones reduced the personal contact that existed between people when communicating. In the book, the authors mention that adolescents nowadays can access the internet through various devices but most importantly in this research, through their cell phones.
