Answer 2 for NUR 590 Explain the importance of a “spirit of inquiry” in an evidence-based culture and what you can do as an advanced registered nurse to encourage this within your practice or organization

The spirit of inquiry is a specific element of evidence-based practices That prompts healthcare professionals with the curiosity to identify gaps and barriers within the health care industry (Bell 2021). The spirit of inquiry enhances participation for better engagement in the process of the study (Bell 2021). Evidence based practice is crucial to the collaboration of theoretical knowledge as it relates to patient care (O’Brien et al., 2023).

As an advanced registered nurse, I can encourage the spirit of inquiry within my practice by identifying more effective ways of patient care that directly lead to improved health outcomes. The proposal of having a physician in triage in the ED will provide safety for patients as they are being seen by a provider upon arrival the ED. Door to provider time will be decreased which will lead to speedier patient dispositions. Overall,  providers in triage will aid in decompressing the ED waiting room. The role of implementation in any unit requires buy in from leadership and staff. Depending upon the implementation buy in may be needed from other units. My proposed implementation would require buy in from the medical director and nursing leadership.
