A.Stakeholder IdentificationThe process used to identify the stakeholders involved mostly my knowledge of theorganization. The first stakeholder is the current chair of the falls committee. The secondstakeholder is the current co-chair, and former chair, of the falls committee, but is also someonewho is a very recognizable figure in the organization and is a great agent for change. This personhas a lot of charisma and can help to enact change if the team is hesitant to try somethingdifferent than their current practice. The third and final stakeholder is the quality improvementnurse for the hospital, who is excellent with SWOT analysis, SMART goals, Excel, qualityimprovement projects, and all other data analysis tools used at the hospital.I chose my stakeholders based on an influence-interest grid. All of my stakeholders havea high interest in fall prevention. Of the stakeholders, the individual with the highest overallinfluence is the prior chair of the falls committee who also holds the charismatic power. Thesecond most influential is the current chair of the falls committee, who leads fall meetingsmonthly and reports to managers their findings if falls do occur. The least influential of the three,at least within the hospital itself, is the quality improvement nurse. However, the qualityimprovement nurse does have many contacts within the larger hospital system and could reportout to them if a new fall intervention program were proven to be successful and it was supportedby proof, which could change the way the hospital system operates.The current chair of the falls committee is a bachelor’s prepared nurse who is alsopresently a nursing supervisor in the hospital.
